I am now the proud owner of a (Chester) #guildfact goldmine (from inside the pages the Journal of @ChesterArchSoc). It took a good few days to print out, but worth it, I feel. π

Holy Trinity Church built at site of Roman West Gate & so may have Roman rubble, as might St Peter's #CHBldg100 (no 16). Built on site of Roman HQ by Anglo-Saxons (see https://t.co/bjFOasxKJp. ) St Peter's is official guild church #guildfact & tended to be a bit radical
Chester got its first Guildhall only in 1960s #guildfact - former Holy Trinity Church #CHBldg100 (no 15) at the end of Watergate St. Holy Trinity poplar w/guilds, & aldermen reserved 2 pews - prob w/ mayoral towel.π (Today Guildhall has thrones & shares w/ nightclub)

3/3 Bishop Lloyd's House is the setting of my 2nd Creative Writing Workshop for the @chesterherifest on 22/6/18 at 2 - 5pm. The guilds will feature ! #guildfact As will some over-ornate plasterwork.

2/2 1602 The Linen Drapers are joined by the Cappers, Pinners and Weirdrawers. Not sure what's happened to the Bricklayers, but that donkey's tail is perfectly placed, and the angel's gowns hang just beautifully. #guildfact @2018MysteryPlay @ChesterCath @chesterherifest
