@phonedude_mln @CorrenMcCoy @WebSciDL @Faryane Today, the @waybackmachine team was discussing a related topic. Often, it happens due to a finite max-hops configuration of #Heritrix (or other crawlers), which is one of the simplest approaches to avoid crawler traps or calendar pages.

Finally upgraded to #heritrix 3.4 − and suddenly some problems just seem to solve themselves. That is: thanks to the great work of others... A heartfelt thank you on this #webarchivewednesday!

@edsu @LC_Labs @librarycongress @internetarchive @justinfbrunelle @WebSciDL I think the paper proposes a #WebArchiving technique in which #Heritrix crawls a page, performs some static analysis, & classifies certain links to be pushed into the browser-based crawler frontier queue automatically. That said, it will be interesting to know how archives do it!

I also use AUT (https://t.co/F6wztFByht) by @unleasharchives, warcio (https://t.co/WA6oOVcOXM) by @IlyaKreymer, and @webrecorder_io. I have not tried the new release of #Heritrix yet: https://t.co/TL8BphVQKh If you know of other #webarchiving tools I should try, please comment.
