Day5
J10 Chiyomaru 2-2 (L)
J8 Ochiai 4-0
Ochiai finally meets #HisRoundness, who sadly has posted two straight 4-11 basho. #natsubasho2023
Knee finally got him. Rest up see you in May champ🫡 #HisRoundness
Day6
J1 Asanoyama 4-1
J4 Chiyomaru 0-5
Well, here's a struggling rikishi that can help Asa on his ballyhooed* back to the top. Hope #HisRoundness has a few more years left in him.

Day2
J1 Chiyomaru 1-0
M16 Hiradoumi 1-0
Hilight Hira gives us another hilight of sorts? #HisRoundness knew the score, the gyōji missed it and Hira wasn’t taking any chances. #kyushubasho2022
Day12
J7 Enhō 4-7
J1 Chiyomaru 4-7
Enhō channels some Maenoumi as both these two fight to stave off MK. #HisRoundness is at J1 a lot no? (somebody check me and prove me wrong, heh). Maru has a 4-3 edge in matchups, but enigmatic E has won their last two. #akibasho2022
Day7: 2-4 Chiyomaru (L) vs Tochinoshin. I figured #HisRoundness would try some rope-a-dope as he lost by yorikiri to Shin last time, but nope. I also post cuz I like this mawashi color combo 🤗. #harubasho2022
Day15: Big bout for these two. #PinkLightning Ura (L) vs #HisRoundness Chiyomaru. Both are wiley in their own way. Winner goes KK, loser goes MK. Ura has a 5-4 matchup lead. Don’t like way one went down. Looked okay tho. #hatsubasho2022
GLAAAAAARGH!!
(That was the only “caption” - I could think of for this, suggestions welcome! 🤗 - and caption made lovingly - I ❤️ #HisRoundness
#Hatsubasho2022
#Chiyomaru
Day10: Never get tired of watching #HisRoundness Chiyomaru (L) do his thing. Foe is Kotoekō. Maru most of the time is giving ground letting you think you got him and then.. #hatsubasho2022
Day4: #HisRoundness Chiyomaru (L) vs Ichiyamamoto. Maru does his classic soft power approach. Ichi’s tsuppari, while similar to Abi’s, isn’t as powerful but he compensates for it with more grappling skills. #hatsubasho2022
Day1 Chiyomaru (L) vs Abi, who’s now back in prime time makuuchi and is def primed. #HisRoundness doesn’t know what hit him. #Kyushubasho2021
Day9: Let’s start this one slo-mo. #HisRoundness Chiyomaru (bum) vs Hidenoumi. Great Maru-style moves. The three-legged race looking side step win, using hips and side, deserves a better designation than YORIKIRI. Ah well. #akibasho2021
Day3 Ura (R) vs #HisRoundness Chiyomaru. These two’ve faced off 6 times since ’16, with U winning 4-6, but C won their only recent bout in March. Commentator praised U for less acrobatic (injuring risking) and keeping it more to basics. #nagoyabasho2021
LastDay jūryō: If 10-4 Hakuyōzan (R) can dispatch #HisRoundness Chiyomaru, he takes jūryō yūshō (bc Takagenji lost). If Maru wins, it forces a multi rikishi playoff (par for course with jūryō). Popcorn optional. #harubasho2021
Day12 #HisRoundness Chiyomaru (L) could take sole lead in jūryō!Foe is swarthy 6-5 Shōhōzan in his 3rd basho down in jūryō. S had C’s number in makuuchi, beating him 6 times straight, but C won in their jūryō match last basho. #harubasho2021
Day7 jūryō: 5-1 Chiyomaru (L) vs 3-3 Churanoumi. #HisRoundness is unparalleled at the spongy approach, giving ground, always aware of where tawara is, and then waiting for chance for foe to overextend. #harubasho2021
Day6 jūryō: #HisRoundness Chiyomaru (R) has only lost to Enhō. Foe is Ishiura who’s 3-2 but has looked very good in his wins. Maru does a good job keeping Ishi in front of him, when Ishi’d rather circle around and get the jump on him. #harubasho2021
Day2 This spirited bout btwn subdued mawashi Enhō (R) and #HisRoundness Chiyomaru should be good bc C was one of the early rikishi who could regularly beat E back when E seemed un-suss-able (coining that one). #harubasho2021
Day10 jūryō: 6-3 Chiyomaru (L) vs Mongol 6-3 Azumaryū. Mostly post because #HisRoundness should’ve have been allowed a new kimarite, HARADASHI (belly force out) or the like. #novbasho2020
Day8 Interdivisional bout: One behind for yūshō makuuchi Shimanoumi (L) vs #HisRoundness Chiyomaru. Deceptively strong and wiley Maru does tawara-a-dope better than anyone and his skills are on display here. #novbasho2020
