Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment George Opare Addo says he will petition the appropriate authorities over the rising cost of student accommodation, particularly at KNUST.

@konkrumah We can't pay our school fees. The hostel managers are making the free SHS be in vain, because of the prices they charge as hostel fees. They increase the hostel fees with any amount they want. Some have increase the hostel fees with 300gh and more.

Off campus security system is really abysmal.Student leaders will only disturb you when they want power,fame & help.They do not care when they get the power. Till now, student leaders are silent as if off campus residents are not part of the school.#HostelFeesMustFall

Incurred debts on meter before a new user arrives is another hell for off campus residents. There are existing debts on the meters which hostel managers always make new users pay all the debts on meter used by others. Light issues!

Staying off-campus is truly hectic in a way,especially if your hostel is far from campus itself.Aside that,the conditions are not the best & security is never top-notch as we constantly hear of theft cases amongst others. #HostelFeesMustFall @Socsaknust @yankey119 @paa_kwesi01
