As @gadikian says I’m not talking specifics here, just high level direction, trying to imagine where public blockchains and permissionless protocols can help our humanity over next 20 years, as a substitute for nation states and administrators. By sharing these thoughts, i hope to inspire others to join hands to figure out new models of serving up public goods via permissionless protocols, b/c surely the old world nation state model is tired now, and we need to find new solutions. Also the examples of user facing public goods that I shared in the original post are not the fastest places to start, I shared those items merely to distinguish these two classes of public goods by showing familiar examples. Definitely, Healthcare and Education are very complex, and would be quite challenging to build a fat protocol to serve up efficiently and at scale in a permissionless manner — maybe that is not even possible? If I was asked, which will be the earliest‘user facing public goods’ that we can pluck out of the old nation state and move over to the permissionless network state, I would say: identity cards, records of births and deaths, registrations of entities, intellectual property registrations. Basically any function where the gov’t is running a DB to serve the public. Of course voting systems and the entire banking sector, are in the target zone as well. None of this can move forward until user privacy is solved, imo. The quote from @zkdragon last week, “Privacy for the individual, transparency for the system” has been in my brain all week. ++++ For clarity, these are my own private views and not AADAO consensus opinion. AADAO strat comm consensus is to onboard consumer chains, tackle the friction of users needing 17 gas tokens in the eco by making atom a default option, guide POL to enhance liquidity within the eco, & empower airdrops and revenue shares back to comm pool. Of course, if we can fund a few user facing public goods that also add solid value to $atom holders, I would be all for it, but there is a process and decision committee, and it would need to be a proposal that met aadao’s high standards of review! Hope this clears up your questions! 🤍🤍🤍

Bitcoin is the first voluntary public good: a new system of community money. There will be 100s more voluntary public goods built w/ smart contracts on blockchains. These voluntary opt-in public goods will be the heart of the network state! #humanity_three
