Hot take: SwiftUI is not just a UI framework; it's a productivity hack.
→ Faster prototyping
→ Cleaner code
→ Less boilerplate

The order of modifiers like .padding() and .background() changes the UI output!

Do you need to give the json response a massage before tucking it away in the model for safekeeping?

🤔 Ever wonder how to create a variable blur effect without dipping into undocumented APIs? So have we!
Anyway. Hope you’re having a nice week so far. #iOSDevTips
🤯👠 Our SwiftUI engineers are head over heels for this change. No more need for arbitrary Groups to work around the limit! #iOSDevTips
https://t.co/cnlxRxWESD
ICYMI: Xcode 15b3 is out, and – hurray! – has removed the 10-view limit in SwiftUI. You can now add as many child views as you want without using Group 🎉
🔂 One of our favorite tiny additions to SwiftUI this year is the new .buttonRepeatBehavior modifier, which lets you make buttons that keep performing an action as you hold them! #iOSDevTips
https://t.co/WDgN9GPnYc

So nice that this is now possible with a single line of code in SwiftUI (hold to repeat the action)
It even speeds up as you hold it 😍
In Swift 5.9, if statements are now expressions — which means you can write them inline when declaring constants or variables! 🙌
😇 We’ll use this all the time for targeting features of new versions of iOS. #iOSDevTips

if-statements got new super powers in Swift 5.9 and it's 🔥!

Xcode 15 has gotten so good! This is so much better than scrolling through a tiny list of parameter permutations. ➡️➡️➡️ #iOSDevTips

One of my favorite improvements in Xcode 15 code completion is the ability to see all the possible parameter permutations for functions by pressing the right arrow key #WWDC23

If you’re as excited as we are about animated SF Symbols, this tip from @BigMtnStudio on how to animate them within labels is sure to come in handy! 🪄 #iOSDevTips #WWDC23

👀 Most developers know about breakpoints, but few know about watchpoints. If you’re still printing things out to the console whenever a variable changes, this tip is for you! #iOSDevTips
https://t.co/27CY74Rjae
🚀 An underused technique in Swift debugging - Watchpoints! They're not used by many, but can be quite powerful.
Two ways to set a watchpoint: through Xcode or lldb. But here's a secret: lldb lets you do more.
- Watchpoints can observe memory/variable changes:
(lldb) watchpoint set variable myVariable
- Watchpoints can trigger a lldb script:
(lldb) watchpoint command add
> p myVariable
> DONE
Imagine watchpoints as seamlessly injecting didSet into your code, minus the need for recompiling.

🚦 With #WWDC23 right around the corner, here’s a helpful reminder of how to use APIs only on operating systems where they’re available! #iOSDevTips
https://t.co/JKgS0O6Oxy
Swift allows us to use the @available attribute to provide information about the platform that function or type needs to run. We can separate different platforms by using commas.

🗺️ Our engineers have stumbled upon this a few times by accident—we didn’t know what was going on until we saw this tweet!
Very cool feature (when done intentionally 😂) #iOSDevTips

Hey iOS developers! Remember every time you encounter a bug or face a setback you're just one step closer to success. Embrace the failures, learn from them, and keep pushing forward. Who knows maybe you'll be the next big thing in the App Store! #FailToSucceed #iOSDevTips 📱💻🚀
If you’ve ever wanted to use a subtitle in a menu in SwiftUI but didn’t know how, @Twig777 figured it out. Just include a second text view in your label parameter, and voila! ✨ #iOSDevTips

🤞 Hoping this new backDeployed() API means we’ll be seeing backward-compatible SwiftUI from @Apple during #WWDC23 so we can keep shipping great stuff to folks on older versions of iOS! #iOSDevTips
https://t.co/4CXpseBCx3
In Xcode 14.3, it seems like Swift got a way to create backport of a new API to older ones using backDeployed(before:) attribute.
Does it mean we would see more back-deployed SwiftUI features?

📅⏰ Ever since last WWDC, we’ve been loving how quick it is to format dates & times with Foundation’s slick .formatted() method! #iOSDevTips

One of the things we’re most excited about in Xcode 14.3 and iOS 16.4 (out today!) is the new scroll bounce behavior modifier in SwiftUI 📜 #iOSDevTips
https://t.co/BajOkLTrLA
We can now disable scroll view bouncing if the content doesn’t actually need to scroll 👀

Another @github tip:
If you find yourself always behind on code review (we’ve been there 😅), set up a Focus Mode for work & add the GitHub pull request widget to your home screen—like @mb does! #iOSDevTips

🚂 Our engineers on larger projects have been waiting for this
@github feature for a long time. Can't wait to queue up some PRs! #iOSDevTips

We’re back with more #iOSDevTips 👋
If you’re localizing your app & not sure how to find every string you need to localize, edit your scheme and check “Show non-localized strings” in Run → Options. Then, look for all-caps strings.
