first step to new #INK2 enemies is just blocking them out prior to doing all of the wiggle-jiggle math. #gamedev #gamemaker #indiedev
#INK2 is interesting to design because the vibes come from bumping around in the dark and discovery. but i designed the levels. will write blog posts about this eventually.
ok, ok, ok--the buffer/compression system for #INK2 is efficient enough that i can store ink data for all "paintables". the static objects all draw to a single surface, while the dynamic objects handle their own. #gamemaker #gamedev
The differences between developing INK and #INK2 are staggering. It was so simple to just code a handful of mechanics and essentially be done aside from level design. Dialogue and lore are just a bottomless pit of to-do.

two things: 1) locked facing when aiming? 2) i spent so much time getting the bullets to bend on ricochet, but they move so fast that it's hard to notice XD #INK2 #gamedev #gamemaker

lol i am recoding my approach to projectile drawing and collision for #INK2. it was a messy mess of messiness.
Yes, I am working towards #INK2 launching on Switch alongside the initial PC/Mac drop. My dev pace will be at or below my writing pace, so I apologize <3
@Mattendo21 been awhile, right? i will take #INK2 public soon enough. i just hate that i feel the need to take a step backward. happy and back to work though!
messing with scanlines and/or pixel grid shader(s) for #INK2. thinking i want *SOME* form of aesthetic variety that allows the two to stand apart...?
