Top Tweets for #ipv6ready
The two trusted #IPv6 testing standards groups are #USGv6 & #IPv6Ready. Here is the results for Wired & Wireless and wired, routers and switches which support #IPv6. Why, its easer to buy something that works out of the box vs. you have to troubleshooting.
@jzdm @Ubiquiti @Ubiquiti uses a profit-first business model (PFBM) not a customer-first business model (CFBM). Otherwise the products would be tested to #USGv6 & #IPv6Ready, demonstrating they are willing to meet or exceed #IPv6 capabilities to new and existing customers.
#IPv6 is established as the default Internet building code. Products unable to to meet this requirement, must be updated, or removed from the Internet. Don't buy products and services. vendors unable meet #USGv6 or #IPv6Ready Logo.
@symantec has declared their Endpoint Protection supports IPv6, but see no entries in \#USGv6 or #IPv6Ready 3rd party testing & validation. Strange many cybersecurity companies are done this, make the claim, but unwilling to pay bug bounties if #IPv6 vulns are discovered.
The trick to reducing sunk costs when moving to #IPv6, is to ensure the produces/services are tested via #IPv6Ready and #USGv6. Otherwise, plan/fund up-to a year of staff time to help your vendor to debug (operational/security/management) their product!
@mistyHarsh That pain has been the lack of products that meet the #IPv6Ready & #USGv6 to avoid the high cost of troubleshooting the vendors products. This compounds the problems with Tech Refresh, if the company you buy from, does not use or provide IPv6. After that, the transition is easy!
@techxcellent To avoid higher costs & project creep, buyers of #IPv6 products/services must "trust but verify", requiring #USGv6/#IPv6Ready testing. If Sellers choose not to meet this requirement, we call it a "wink & a prayer" sale, so expect the worse from the seller.
How to tell you are talking #IPv6 with a sales organization vs technical organization?
- Sales organizations states "It supports IPv6".
- Technical organization states, "it supports both IPv6/IPv4 & IPv6 only, based #RFC <#> & tested via #USGv6/#IPv6Ready at this URL".
@DipierroAnthony @markusklock #IPv6 is not the failure. The delays was the product vendors inability to provide stable secure products which meet the minimum #IPv6Ready & #USGv6 requirements.
@randomperson_FA @noIPv6 @stevedrz @verizonfios @comcast Congrats, @verizonfios delivered residential grade #IPv6 gigabit. I upgraded to gigabit, 4 years ago, with a promise from the sales staff! Tried to use https://t.co/oyoomgEt7l, but @verizonfios kept killing my tunnel. The provided router was not #USGv6 or #IPv6ready.
@NicoSchottelius @mikrotik_com Thanks for the update. Strange how @mikrotik_com has none of their product #IPv6Ready nor #USGv6 tested. For people buying #IPv6 products, this is a "Trust, but verify" step. Truth has escaped the sales, marketing and senior management of product companies.
@bbaskin They made a rooky mistake. For 12 years, they continued to buy products, services or executing contracts where the vendors claimed #IPv6 support, but were never 3rd party tested via #USGv6 & #IPv6Ready. Impact's the bottom line for stockholders & their customers!
#IPv6 Best Practices: 1. Ensure procurement of all devices with a wired & wireless network connects, and software which communicates cross a network (including patches) meet the #USGv6 or #IPv6Ready standard. Why? Prepositioning IT products will save money and time.
@Enno_Insinuator @neojima @yorickdowne @hrbrmstr @wmtownsley I am looking forward to it and specifically the #USGv6/#IPv6Ready testing.
@joshcorman Also, is funny how few Security products are IPv6 capable... #USGv6 https://t.co/3vixfZy1ag #IPv6Ready https://t.co/EZTdsidj2D Although they always make the claim.
Wish all pubic and private sector would make the commitment to require IPv6 capable devices and application, which are third party tested #IPv6Ready #USGv6
@ubnt (Ubiquiti Networks) has been claiming #IPv6 support but not had products tested for #IPv6 compliance via #IPv6Ready or #USGv6 testing. Result? Inability to implement secure and reliability #IPv6 network. Guess I will document it for the bug bounty program...
