Yesterday, Bitcoin (BTC) continued its strong rebound, climbing to $112,500, while Ethereum (ETH) lagged behind, only recovering to $4,477.
The world’s largest prediction market, Polymarket, is preparing to re-enter the U.S. market. On Wednesday, founder and CEO Shayne Coplan announced that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) had granted approval for the platform to resume operations through its regulated exchange. Founded in 2020, Polymarket had ceased services to U.S. users in 2022 after reaching a settlement with the CFTC over operating an unregistered derivatives market.
According to the announcement, the CFTC issued a “no-action letter” to QCEX, a U.S.-registered exchange and clearinghouse acquired by Polymarket for $112 million in July. This allows Polymarket to offer prediction markets, including those on elections, while granting certain exemptions from record-keeping requirements. However, the company has not disclosed a specific timeline for its U.S. return.
Meanwhile, the Federal Reserve has scheduled a meeting for October 21 to focus on innovations in the payments system. The agenda will cover emerging stablecoin use cases, business models, and the tokenization of financial products and services. Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller noted:
“Payments are constantly evolving to meet the changing needs of consumers and businesses. I look forward to exploring the opportunities and challenges brought by new technologies, exchanging ideas on how to enhance security and efficiency, and hearing from those shaping the future of payments.”

This morning, the overall cryptocurrency market experienced a pullback. Bitcoin briefly dropped below the $120,000 mark before rebounding to around $119,300, remaining in a high-level consolidation range. Ethereum also momentarily dipped below $4,500 but quickly bounced back to around $4,640.
Meanwhile, the three major U.S. stock indexes showed relatively stable and slightly divergent performance: the S&P 500 edged up about 0.03%, the Nasdaq slipped 0.01%, and the Dow Jones fell 0.02%. Notably, the S&P 500 closed at a record high for the third consecutive day, continuing its bullish momentum. Large-cap tech stocks generally rose, with Intel leading the gains with a jump of over 7%.
The U.S. July Producer Price Index (PPI) came in significantly hotter than expected, with a monthly increase of 0.9% and a year-over-year rise of 3.3%, well above market forecasts of 0.2% and 2.5%, respectively. Core PPI also rose by 0.9%, marking the largest increase in nearly three years. These figures have heightened concerns about a resurgence of inflation, slightly reducing expectations for a 25 basis point rate cut by the Federal Reserve in September. Currently, the probability of a rate cut stands at approximately 92.5%, with about a 7.5% chance of rates remaining unchanged.
Additionally, the White House announced that U.S. President Donald Trump will hold a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at 11:00 a.m. Anchorage time (3:00 a.m. Beijing time the following day). The meeting has drawn significant international attention, and markets will closely monitor any potential geopolitical implications.
Later that day (8:30 p.m. Beijing time), U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Paul Atkins will deliver a speech on the “Project Crypto” initiative. Officially launched on August 1st, the project aims to modernize U.S. securities regulations and promote the transition of financial markets onto blockchain infrastructure, providing a clear regulatory path for the digital asset space.
