It took me just over 15 months, but I’ve finally finished the P-40. #JFFCat
Finished! Eduard's 1/48 Hellcat in FAA colours. I have tried my best to get across that dusty war weary look of these aircraft. I refined some techniques from the bf109 I did and also some new ones including dust effects and using oils as part of exhaust staining. #jffcat
Last in progress update. I'll be finishing this in the next couple of days, finally. Really happy with the weathering and particularly the exhaust stains. I hope that I've done the war weary Hellcats of the FAA justice #jffcat
I promise its getting there haha pin washes done, just need to satin coat. Then a little oil weathering, exhaust stains and pop on the details and the clear parts and that'll be it done! #jffcat I've had all the paints and detail parts delivered for the delorean too! #jffmovies
The Hellcat's getting there! Decals are on and going to gloss clear over these. Next will be a pin wash, exhaust staining and some weathering to get it looking like it has spent 9 months at sea with salt and sun. #jffcat I want to get this done soon so that I do #jffmovies!

#jFfcat a few more
White is done on the dday stripes. I couldn't resist just seeing what the nose looks like on, don't worry it will be flat coated. Next up is the black stripes (the black at the moment is just the primer) I may put a dark bluish filter over the grey just for some contrast. #jffcat
#jffcat finished!
Why is it that when you're not building a car/bike you spray a perfect gloss colour which you are going to flat coat anyway...and when you want a perfect gloss you get orange peel!! #jffcat
It's getting there! Main colours are on and some hints of wear, going to need a little more clean up than i'd like. DDay stripes next and the lovely red on the front of the nose. Trying to go for the really faded look of the hellcats which saw lots of sun and sea salt #jffcat
#JFFCAT (At sea) finally completed a month late. Airfix 1:48, vallejo paints, army painter varnish, out of box except etch rigging and ez line rigging control wires. BRNC station flight 1965, excursion to HMS eagle, last british biplanes on a carrier.
#JFFCAT at sea….control wires first then rigging. First time doing this…patience in abundance is required
