The defendants were associated with Somali street gangs known as the Somali Outlaws, Somali Mafia, and Lady Outlaws.
Charges centered on the trafficking of underage girls (mainly Somali and African-American minors) for prostitution, with activities linking the Minneapolis area to other cities such as Nashville.
