Over the past year, KHSC has welcomed more than 𝟯𝟱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆-𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 many through the Nursing Graduate Guarantee program — helping talented professionals transition into their roles with confidence and support. “From my very first day, I felt welcomed and supported in ways I hadn’t expected,” says Mahsa Behrouzi Moghaddam, a registered nurse trained in Iran. “The hands-on training helped me adapt quickly and build my confidence. 🚨Hero among us! 🚨 We’re incredibly proud to recognize Shawn Hurteau, Security Supervisor with KHSC's Protection Services, (second from the right) who was recently awarded the Canadian Life Saver Award! 🏅 In September, Shawn responded to a distress call about a vulnerable individual near the shore of Lake Ontario, just across from our Kingston General Hospital site. When he saw the person enter the water, Shawn didn’t hesitate—he went into the water after them while wearing all of his duty gear, and successfully brought them back to safety. Shawn’s swift and selfless actions made all the difference, and his heroic efforts truly embody our commitment to caring for our community.
