#MahaKumbh2025 statistics Indian population is about 1426 million. 67% are in the age bracket of 15 to 64 meaning 955 million. As on 11th February the number of folks who have taken a holy dip in the #Ganga at the #Prayagraj #Khumb is 450 million. This means that 47% of the Indian population has visited the event & taken a dip. The event started on 13th January which means that in less than one month 47% of India was at the Khumb. If we extrapolate by another 15 days since the event gets over on 26th February, then theoretically 675 million or 71% of Indians would have visited the #MahaKumbh2025 The max number of visitors for the last #MahaKhumb2013 is 120 million. Give or take a few percentage points, the number is still astoundingly high. Let that sink in. Think through the figures. Now what prompted this? Some are curious becoz of the advertising - a small number. Some are ticking this off as a ToDo list - again a small number. The majority have a resurgence belief in their faith #Hinduism which was latently there even earlier but somehow under other secular govts this was somehow "Avoidable" "Shameful". Under the @narendramodi @BJP4Delhi @myogiadityanath govt the majority Indians are now confident to wear their faith on their sleeve, display their belief, act on their belief & above all proudly proclaim their actions. India is truly #MODIfied & if there are still folks who have a problem, tough luck, that's their problem.

My #MahaKumbh2025 experience I was reluctant to visit #khumb mela from the beginning but my BH kept pushing me to look out for suitable time and she kept telling me to take her before it ends. After couple of my colleagues shared their experiences, slowly the desire sets in within me and started looking out for options. While airfares were skyrocketing, trains overbooked to their capacity, thought of driving to go there. But it is 10 hours drive from here which was not permitted to me. I kept on ignoring going there until one my colleague assured that he will get me tickets through Tatkal to and fro. He said I have to be ready on short notice as I can get confirmed tickets just 4 hours before train departure. So the day arrived and we set in our journey on 6th evening by BBSR Rajdhani to reach #Prayagraj In the mean time I was working for stay arrangements there which was another rock to climb. Through online portals hotels are either highly priced or seem to be not reliable (have some bad past). Another person who become close just a week ago had shared a contact who is running a hotel there. On contacting he said the rooms are on high demand and rates shall be double the standard rates. I agreed and asked him to book it. He said he will provide room upon arrival but assured me that he will definitely provide. With all this background we boarded our train and reached #Prayagraj around 12 in the night. I wanted to explore my back up plan first. I had made arrangement to stay in one of the tents sponsored by MP for his constituency people. We came out of station looking for transportation but witnessed a sea of people moving around in the vicinity. None of the autos ready to ply to the destination where I am supposed to reach. After a lot of struggle found one but he said he will drop me half way and I can look for other options. Got drop off at #chungi and lucky enough to get an auto at a high price and reached sector 6 where the accommodation arranged. Police stopped before the entry gate of #tentcity and had to walk for a quiet distance. On reaching the facility we have been provided a tent with no cots and have to brave the chilly conditions with beds on the floor. My BH was not ready to stay (she has back pain) and the wind was really killing us. So we walk backed and got an auto to go to original booking place. We checked in the room and stretched our legs little bit to start early on the next day. After resting a while we started walking towards #sangam which was around 7 kms from my hotel. We crossed many tents sponsored by religious groups and akharas and finally entered the mela through #makaradwar wading through an ocean of people. Had to walk a good amount of distance to reach sangam ghat like a sheep herds following others. As per plan, we are supposed to go the place where the boat takes to the sangam but we have been diverted to go to other area as we have landed in the VIP ghat. By this time, the crowd steadily increased and we decided to take holy dip there itself to avoid delay. We crossed the barrier on safety and took dip on the running water turn by turn. On seeing this, the security guard screamed at us and cautioned about depth, under water currents and vortex. But we didn’t heed to his warning and took dip 3 times and came up. After chanting slokas on the river bed, we started moving towards exit. The administration has made circular movements to avoid jams and stampede. You enter from one side and exist on the other. We tried to have Dharshan of bade hanuman mandir, but after seeing serpentine queue we decided for some other day. After wading through sea of people again, we reached the main road and I started looking for conveyance to reach hotel. Auto/ E rickshaw denied to come and bikers asked exorbitant rates 1500/- pp to drop. We decided to walk again and in the middle we got a shared auto who agreed to drop till Jhunsi railway station road.
