@Kenyans Why would we even allow this folks to get to Gikomba? @SakajaJohnson we are not protecting our citizens any more? I'm sure @MikeSonko wouldn't allow this nonsense. Where is #KNBS and @KRACorporate or their hands were oiled to allow these things into the country?
According to @KNBStats, Kenya created 782,300 new jobs in 2024—but 90% (703,700) were informal. Only 10% were formal jobs. A jobs boom? Maybe. But without job security, benefits, or structure, it’s a boom built on sand. #EconomicSurvey2025 #JobsCrisis #KNBS #Rutos1MillionJobs

I am worried for the whistleblower. In this country, such great people will soon be found kidnapped/shot in our streets. Other options being fired or demoted. In serious jurisdictions, the @EACCKenya @DCI_Kenya @NPSOfficial_KE & @Kenyajudiciary would be in action!

🚨 PART 1: KEBS Finance Staff Expose Ksh 420M Corruption Scandal in Open Letter to President Ruto William Ruto🚨
A scathing open letter from the Finance Staff of the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) addressed to President William Ruto has blown the lid off what could be one of the country’s biggest corruption scandals in recent history.
The letter, titled "An Open Letter on Mega Corruption at KEBS," alleges that the National Standards Council Board (NSC) and Managing Director (MD) Ms. Esther Ngari have orchestrated a systematic embezzlement of public funds totaling Ksh 420,206,505.24 (approximately USD 3.25 million) in less than a year.
The allegations, backed by a trove of annexed evidence, paint a damning picture of abuse of office, forgery and negligence that has compromised national security, public health and economic stability.
The KEBS Finance Employees outline 11 major scandals, each more alarming than the last, accusing senior management of flouting Kenya’s Constitution, the Leadership and Integrity Act, the Public Officers Ethics Act, and the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act of 2013.
(1) Forgery and Falsification of Documents: Senior managers, allegedly led by the MD, Director of Legal Services, and the MD’s Secretary, are accused of forging documents to claim unearned imprests.
A memo dated July 15, 2024, titled "Insurance Risk Assessment 2024," was allegedly altered to inflate an imprest from Ksh 626,800 to Ksh 1,965,600, despite the managers not traveling as claimed.
The trio reportedly pocketed Ksh 20,841,326.73 through such schemes within a year.
(2) Unprocedural Purchases: The Chief Manager of Administration, allegedly protected by the MD, is accused of bypassing procurement laws to purchase unnecessary goods, such as four overpriced air conditioners.
Two were sent to the cold Nyeri office and two to Mombasa, only to be rejected by users and left unutilized.
(3) Threat to National Security: On June 22, 2023, Head of ICT Mr. John Kirimi allegedly introduced malware into KEBS systems, shutting down operations and costing Ksh 10 million to recover critical data, including emails, Sage 300, HRIS, and payroll systems.
Despite the severity of the incident, Kirimi was not interdicted but transferred to head administration services.
(4) Double Payments to Law Firms: In a case involving Kwale International Sugar Company Limited, which sued KEBS for Ksh 7.5 billion, the MD allegedly instructed double payments to two law firms (Muchemi & Co. Advocates and Wekesa & Simiyu Advocates) for the same case, despite the files being consolidated.

#Kenya’s tourism poised for record growth in 2025
Kenya’s tourism sector is poised for a strong performance in 2025, with international arrivals surging by 15% in 2024, according to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (#KNBS). The increase, which saw visitors exceed two million, is largely attributed to “aggressive digital marketing campaigns” by the Kenya Tourism Board and enhanced collaboration with the private sector.
Kenya’s standing in the global tourism industry has been reinforced by prestigious accolades. Nairobi was recognized as “Africa’s Leading Business Travel Destination” at the 2024 World Travel Awards, while the Maasai Mara continues to be among “the world’s most sought-after safari destinations.” The country’s coastline also remains a key draw for beach tourism.
However, Kenya faces stiff competition from regional players such as Rwanda, Tanzania, and South Africa, which have intensified their tourism marketing strategies. Rwanda’s partnership with Arsenal Football Club and Tanzania’s positioning of Zanzibar as a premier beach destination are examples of how “strategic branding” is shaping regional competition.
Beyond competition, financing and security concerns remain key challenges. Smaller tourism operators, particularly in eco-tourism, struggle with access to credit due to “high collateral demands and elevated credit risks,” KNBS notes. Additionally, travel advisories from major markets like the US and China continue to highlight security risks, despite Kenya’s efforts to “enhance security measures.”

@WehliyeMohamed @bonifacemwangi No, so long as you are specific and factual, ethnic profiling doesn't matter. I know truth is stubborn, but so is reality. Even #KNBS uses tribes to aggregate statistics on govt jobs
