Just wanted to say I loved #L604 and our whole group this semester. I learned so much from @josephsdsu and my fellow classmates, and I couldn't be happier that I decided to take this class.

In hindsight &, maybe in lieu of being an analytical freak with little poetry expertise, I have enjoyed the poetry books that fall back on a narrative such as Garveys Choice, Street Love, and Requiem. Each of these made me appreciate the poetry, the linearity, & the meaning #L604

It is so cool being able to collaborate with my classmates and hear all their thoughts on the books of this semester. I like being able to be someone in the mindset of the judges of The Lion and the Unicorn prize. #L604

"Invitations into the existential or metaphysical are rare in children's verse, as are meditations on life or death." Part of why I loved Lawson's book. We don't need to shield kids from what we think is too dark or deep, and poetry can be an excellent intro to that. #L604
