Erdman self proclaims his advocacy for "School Choice" like #LB753/#LB1402 is a new concept, when real school choice has been state policy since 1990, IF the target school has room. Like many entitlements and "choices", the "right" to pursuit of happiness does not guarantee such.

Sen. Conrad shares some actual facts and statistics regarding decision making timeline for whether #LB753 remains or not on the ballot. Personally, I don't see how mere passage of #LB1402 can annul an established and certified referendum vote on #LB753. 753 by any other name...

Sen. Raybould puts it succinctly: No #LB1402 bypass preventing the people's vote on #LB753. We let other referendums go full distance: voter ID, Medicaid, minimum wage, etc.

If looking for fat exemptions to repeal, try the income tax credits (like #LB753, #LB1402, #LB937, etc.) May add up much faster than sweeping up more crumbs from regressive sales tax.

#LB137 (drug war- "enhanced sentencing") I could listen to Sen. McKinney all day long. While I disagree with him on #LB753, I imagine the difference in the #neleg if we had 20 more like him.

@KVouganour That's what I thought. I speculated maybe it was another spoof Superbowl ad run by some local wag. Or is he trying to "Linehan" it like the bait/switch she's pulling with #LB1402 to "replace" #LB753, seize the initiative from the opposition, but that seems too tactical for him.

No one is saying public schools can’t improve, but everyone is saying stop taking funds from them. This is in Iowa, but LB753 in Nebraska is going drain resources and will be made exponentially worse if combined w/ LB 1402 (+$25 million) & LB 1386 ($1,500/kid for private school)
