Year 6 are stepping into the role of engineers to kick off STEAM Week! π οΈ
Egg drop challenge underway, putting creativity, teamwork and problem-solving to the test.
Canβt wait to try them out and see the results! π₯β¨ #lhsteamweek #larkalbert #lhdt #lhstu #lhpscd
Year 5 worked collaboratively and creatively when building shelters out of sticks and leaves today for STEAM week. We even had an appearance from a Christmas Helper. #Larkalbert #lhbattersea #LHSTEAMweek #lhblp π πΊ π
Year 3 made model space rovers inspired by @spacegovuk They got creative π©πΎβπ¬π¨ and used their teamwork skills π«±π»βπ«²πΏ #lhsteamweek #lhtower #lhlondon #lhua #lhstu #lhpscd
During STEAMWeek, weβve been working hard to figure out how to free our Stickman from the ice. We tried breaking the ice with a hammer, creating cracks using salt, and melting the ice with both cold and hot water. #lheyfs #nursery #lhhgsu #eyfscelebrations #lhstu #lhsteamweek
Ever tried moving an aluminum can with just a balloon? πβ‘ This #lhSTEAMWeek, Year 6 learnt how static electricity creates enough force to attract and move objects. A simple, fun way to explore physics and engineering! π‘#lhputney #lhlambeth #lhstu
We have been filtering water this week in Year 4 after crash landing on an island! Absolutely incredible absorption, curiosity and revising #lhstu #lhsteamweek #lhpscd #lhblp ππ΅οΈββοΈπ
Year 6 were inspired by pioneering aerospace engineer @drdraprille to explore engineering for themselves! They designed, built, and tested paper rockets, learning about forces, motion, and the power of moving air. π #lhputney #lhlambeth #lhsteamweek
Inspired by Aprille Ericsson, Year 6 became engineers and created their own rockets based on their knowledge of shape, balance and aerodynamics. They then worked out the average distance from 3 attempts #lhlambeth #lhputney #lhmu #lhstu #lhsteamweek
Year 6 became expert navigators today, mapping out a desert island! Using compass directions, symbols, and keys, they marked landmarks like water sources, shelter spots, and raft-building sites. #lhputney #lhlambeth #lhsteamweek
In STEAM week we are excited to find different resources to build a shelter to live in on our desert island. #lhblp #lhSTEAMWEEK #lhstu
Year 1 helped their teachers find the best biscuit for their teas during #lhsteamweek. They investigated the question βWhich biscuit stays the most whole for 2 minutes?β. They were great noticing meerkats and observed the changes over time. #lhsteamweek #lhsouthwark #lhmillennium
Year 1 loved Science Week! They showed so much curiosity and zest when investigating which material would be best for Cinderellaβs carriage for her to see through the windows. They tested the transparency of different materials. #lhsteamweek #lhsouthwark #lhmillennium
Year 2 used their Noticing muscle π during our experiment about biscuits. We tested to see which biscuit would stay whole for the longest πͺ We made a prediction, wrote up the method and drew observational drawings before and after #lhsteamweek #lhlondon #lhstu #lhtower #lhblp
Year 6 investigated whether there was a relationship between height and lung capacity for STEAM week and presented their results in a scatter graph. This has inspired lots of further investigation. #lhwestminster #lhsteamweek #lhstu #lhblp #lhpscd
Year 6 enjoyed their investigation to find out which biscuit was the most durable for dunking for STEAM WEEK. #lhsteamweek #lhwestminster #lhstu #lhblp
After out first experiment using cold liquid we wanted to see if our results were different in hot liquids! To test this we had to change our variables and what would stay the same. What do you think happened? #lhwandsworth #lhstu #lhpscd #lhsteamweek
Year 5 used data from their spinner experiment to create a line graph that represents how adding mass made the spinners fall faster. #lhmu #lhstu #lhchelsea #lhvauxhall #lhsteamweek
Year 2 did an experiment to test which materials were the most waterproof π§ We made a prediction and then we tested cling film, foil, paper and cotton fabric. Which one do you think was the most waterproof? So much curiosity! π΅οΈββοΈ π #lhblp #lhsteamweek #lhlondon #lhtower #lhpscd
The tiger came to tea but none of the biscuits were suitable for dunking (too soggy, crumbly or mushy!) So Reception children had to become little scientists and find out which biscuits worked best. #LHSteamWeek #LHEYFS #LHSTU #LHUECL #LHWaterloo #LHBLP #LHPSCD
