The primary target species are #blackcap. Songbirds are considered a delicacy - known as #ambelopoulia.
Sold under the counter in dodgy restaurants & all entirely illegal of course!
2/4 This was the case a few days ago at a coastal trapping site near Mazotos, where a CABS team found 21 #limesticks in a single olive tree.
Four songbirds (all warblers) & one chameleon had become entangled & were all carefully cleaned up & freed unharmed!
More than 200 #limesticks seized from a single site in Aradippou, Cyprus.
