I never weighed in on the Kevin Samuels debate because it wasn’t my lane. Still isn’t. But to anyone trying to do psychological work around their femininity or masculinity, I’d recommend reading books that speak to that. Why? Because how we show up in adulthood often extends from childhood or even earlier. We have both life burdens & legacy burdens. Life can harden us, soften us, or break us. We develop both healthy & unhealthy coping mechanisms. This is why merely telling someone that they should change almost always fails. Our behavior serves an internal purpose, & if we can’t get to the root of it, we’ll always revert back to the pattern or habit that protects and/or sooths. There are many books on how we engage masculine & feminine animus. Read a couple. That’s the real work. Now back to me minding my business 🤓
