Why I Took Profits in the Global X Lithium & Battery Tech ETF (LIT) Today...
The #LithiumSector has been charging higher in recent weeks culminating in the Global X Lithium & Battery Tech ETF (#LIT) breaking its February high on Friday and triggering my next sell order which trimmed 16.30% of my End-of-the-World Portfolio’s position at $77.95.
The sale locked in +98.04% in gains selling shares I bought for $39.36 on February 5, 2024 and lowered my per-share cost -19.98% from $38.49 to $30.80.
The long-term prospects for lithium batteries remains strong as the #ElectricVehicle (#EV) industry shows no signs of changing their strategy for powering the future of automotive travel, however the volatility in the space means I need to take profits along the way to free up capital in the event of market pullbacks.
From here, my next sell target is $87.02, below a point of resistance $LIT hasn’t tested since August 2022, and my next buy target is $39.38, above a support level the #GlobalXLithiumETF tested less than a year ago in July.
