I dont recommend zero prep for new game runners. Anyone telling you not to prep has most likely been playing TTRPGs for years.
Also dont over prepare but if youre a new runner, that line will have to be something you discover for yourself.
And its fine if you never get to the point that you can "make shit up on the fly". Some people just don't do well with improvisation.
One fair bit of criticism about prepping though: Its very easy to slip into writing scripts for your players instead of scenarios. So be careful.

But ZeroPrep is about cutting out what GMs -currently, generally- consider prep.
