Two states that BJP suffered the largest setback in #LS2024 were UP and Maharashtra. In the 2 states, BJP lost a total of 43 seats, ending up at 240, instead of, say 283.
In MH, BJP had come down from 23 seats to just 9 (and NDA down from 41 to 17). But it registered a spectacular comeback in the assembly elections that followed immediately after the Lok Sabha elections, surprising everyone.
Can BJP do the same in UP, where Akhilesh led Indi Alliance won a majority of 43/80 seats in #LS2024?
In MH, BJP had to do a Ladki Bahin, something BJP has avoided so far.

It began with Vote Jihad during the #LS2024 elections. One community rallied behind the INDI alliance, particularly the INC, casting their votes in unison. This fracture among the majority community offered a tantalizing chance for the INC to tip the scales of power.
Then came the turmoil in Bangladesh. The suffering of its Hindu minority sent shockwaves through India. Alarmed, the entire community unified, turning out en masse to support the BJP in Haryana.
Around this time, the Waqf land grab erupted. Claims surfaced for hectares of land across the nation, igniting a fierce response. A Waqf Bill was tabled, making its way to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). After an extension, it now awaits presentation in the upcoming budget session of Parliament.
However, before that, 17 demands were thrust upon the MVA in Maharashtra. These demands further exacerbated the already frayed relations between communities.
Despite being the majority, Hindus delivered a sweeping mandate to the BJP alliance. Yet, the atmosphere grew more volatile. The Sambhal incident and the lawsuit in Rajasthan's High Court for an Ajmer Dargah survey only intensified tensions.
Historically, Arab and Mughal invaders built their structures atop existing temples as a symbol of dominance. India harbors over 40,000 disputed temple-mosque sites, potential flashpoints in the courts. The potential for communal flare-ups looms terrifyingly close.
The andolanjivis, with their knack for stirring unrest, often strike in winter. Remember the Farmers' protests? The Shaheen Bagh sit-in? These memories linger.
The postponement of the Waqf Bill to the budget session seems strategic—an outreach to safeguard Hindu interests and resolve the Bangladesh crisis once and for all.
The Centre's approach is cautious, favoring dialogue, while Yogi Maharaj pushes for swift action within legal bounds. Both the Waqf Board and the Places of Worship Act have put the majority community at a disadvantage, fueling discontent.
This issue will dominate headlines until resolution is forced. A dynastic political family created this chaos. The only solution lies in removing them from power.
They've already lost influence in Kashmir and Jharkhand. Even the Chidambarams voice their dissent. Meanwhile, Mamta Didi maneuvers to position herself as the leader of the INDI alliance.
The stakes are high, and the clock is ticking.
