Our Soros-backed DA Mulroy is the weak link in the Memphis Safe Task Force—and everyone knows it, from the streets of Shelby County to the U.S. Senate. @SenatorHagerty understands that to ensure the task force's efforts aren't wasted, as many charges as possible must now be pursued federally under our tough-on-crime U.S. Attorney Mike Dunavant.
Imagine if our federal partners could actually rely on our local DA instead of having to work around him! To #MakeMemphisMatter, we need everyone doing their job to seize this once-in-a-generation opportunity. Unfortunately, the only ones who can rely on DA Mulroy are criminals seeking easy plea deals!
My Memphis Safe Task Force DA Accountability Act will require any downgrading or dismissal of charges to be certified in writing to the U. S. Attorney, the Speakers of Tennessee’s House and Senate, as well as the DA’s Conference. This will make it easy to track cases handled in state court. It's a shame my colleagues and I even have to worry about soft-on-crime prosecutors in Tennessee.
