Amazing as a person who uses drugs to have a seat at the table at #MAPcConf @rcgp @addictionprofs conference shows we're moving forward. Although I struggled with some of the language, addict, misuse, abuse, there was beautiful moments, one when an Edinburgh GP said in the Q&A discussion that "we are all desperately trying to see the person and the solutions before they die and not reflecting on what we could do after they die" Sometimes we need to take these moments when we often disagree and see things differently to recognise we all do this work with love in our hearts, working every day to try and reduce harms and deaths, and ultimately the pain for so many who lose loved ones. Thanks to the conference organisers, my employer Cranstoun and fellow panilists plus all the delegates for everything they do and affording me this opportunity to try and make a small difference.
