In 2022, we wrapped up the Meta Road Import Project, a 4.5 year partnership with @hotosm. Using #MapwithAI, OMDTZ team mapped 662,000+ km of roads & 643,000+ buildings in 43 areas in Tanzania Uploaded at @openstreetmap. Kudos to our 31 remote mappers for their incredibleΒ work!

Since 2019, OMDTZ has been validating Meta AI-Assisted mapped Road in Tanzania using #MapWithAI and @RapiD. We've generated high-quality road data in 30 districts and counting. #AIassistedmapping #innovation
We had three interactive sessions and discussions, 1) How AI is used in open data creation #mapwithai 2) How to improve quality of AI generated data and lastly, we had a mapping party where participants helped contribute to open data using AI

The project has really progressed since I left and there are now over 4 million roads mapped with #mapwithai in India alone.

With the 776,712,641 building footprint polygon geometries located around the world that were recently released by @Microsoft we are excited that as South Sudan we got 120,000 building foot prints, this shall aid in first mapping with #RapidAI.
