We urge @maxmara to listen to @TAEC_LAOS & the #Oma #indigenous group from #Laos & stop using #Oma designs for their fashion lines! The patterns are the embodiment of #Oma culture & are not meant to fulfill capitalism's needs! Join campaign #MaxOma https://t.co/NxyBGYTYUf

The power imbalance here couldn’t be more stark — an international fashion brand profiting off the traditional designs of ethnic minority artisans in rural Southeast Asia. #maxoma @maxmara https://t.co/E6OR5LYXgC

Shame on you @maxmara. Cultural appropriation shouldn't be a fashion trend in 2019.v Invest in the communities you're borrowing from instead. #MaxOma #hauteracism

@maxmara didn’t get inspired by Oma motifs and reinterpret them. They simply scanned a handmade piece and printed it on clothes without even mentioning the existence of Oma community. This is not creative interpretation. This is plagiarism! #MaxOma

The Oma are a tiny ethnic minority group in rural Laos. @maxmara has plagiarized Oma artisans, slapping a copy-paste of their work onto a $800 factory-made dress. It’s blatant theft. Pls share. (Photo credit @TAEC_LAOS) #MaxOma #artisans #fashion

As pointed out by @TAEC_LAOS, @maxmara has blatantly stolen/plagiarised traditional Oma motifs. Copy-paste for mass production sold for $$$ while ripping off artisans & their culture. Pull the clothes & apologise #maxmara #MaxOma
