Around 1960 the city landscaped it to be the smooth consistent pitch it is today.

The stately Somerville Avenue home was built c1906 by realtor James Paterson and his wife Laura. Paterson was also a shareholder in the Bow River Bridge Company which built the first Centre Street Bridge in 1907. And in 1916, he shot and killed a lynx on #McHughBluff! 5/4
