Some parents are hoarders, and their children have to grow up in houses where every corner is packed with junk, old newspapers, broken appliances, useless containers and things nobody has touched in years. I just saw a story about a couple who had hoarded so much stuff that they no longer had access to their own kitchen. Imagine that! A whole kitchen in your house that you can no longer use because it's buried under piles of things you refuse to throw away. Now imagine children growing up in such an environment, with no space to play, study, move freely or even invite friends over. Some of these homes become genuine health and safety hazards. It's heartbreaking because children don't get to choose the environment they grow up in. They have to live with the consequences of their parents' habits, even when those habits make everyday life unnecessarily miserable. Your home should be a place to live, not a warehouse for things you cannot let go of. And your children shouldn't have to sacrifice their comfort and well-being because you refuse to declutter. 💔
