🗞📺📻 || We do not have a general #MediaProblem in this country. We have a specific #News24 and #DailyMaverick problem, and lately #Newzroom405 appears to be joining the list. These platforms have increasingly become enablers of criminality. Some of their newsrooms are compromised, with crime-linked actors masquerading as journalists and analysts. This must be said clearly: ethical journalists still exist, but some individuals are double-dipping, collecting salaries from media houses while also benefiting from brown envelopes from criminal syndicates, drug networks, and politicians. Journalists are meant to be patriotic and serve the public interest. Instead, these voices have become mouthpieces of decay. They drown out legitimate public voices while amplifying the opinions, narratives, and nonsense of questionable individuals, forcing citizens to pay for and consume content that serves hidden agendas. Think of figures like Calvin Raffadi, Fadiel Adams, and Patricia Mashale, all deeply questionable characters. Yet how often have their faces and clearly biased voices been pushed onto paid television platforms and subscription-based media? The same applies to so-called NGO “analysts” whose commentary conveniently aligns with their funding interests, not the truth or the public good. And despite serious clouds hanging over certain commentators, we are still expected to consume recycled, shallow legal analysis from individuals who should not be platformed until serious questions are resolved. You are still going to see @karynmaughan giving some dizzy analysis and butchering people's reputations on your tv, trust me. You will still read @Abrammashego badly-written paid-for drivel on @City_Press When you complain, you will be accused of attacking media freedom, even with their names appearing in criminal payroll, they are still operating, no suspension, no internal investigation. One day you are accused of wrongdoing at your worksplace, these bogus journalists will have a fit asking YOUR employer why you are not suspended because you are mentioned in some allegations. But no, the same approach does not apply to them? These media houses force-feed the public “expert opinions” from people who should never have been elevated in the first place. What is most alarming is the complete failure to vet. Rafadi & his criminal network was everywhere as an upright expert, was not exposed by investigative journalists that he is deep in the rot he even texts Matlala askinh for petrol petty cash and rent while pretending to be assisting Jerry Boshoga's family. The public only learned about this truth through Gen Mkhwanazi and Khumalo, not the media. That alone should concern every citizen. These outlets do not conduct proper background checks on who they hire or platform; profit comes first, truth last. And yet, we pay through subscriptions, paywalls, and TV licences for soiled, rotten and deliberately muddied information. That is TREASONOUS, misleading and it is so exploitative it borders on theft of citizens’ money. Selling misinformation under the guise of journalism is not a harmless mistake, it is a betrayal of public trust. Citizens must begin to refuse this drivel. Now that it is increasingly clear how certain media houses protect and sanitize suspects within their own spaces, the public must act. From what I have seen the last four years I am more worried about the Media making instead of reporting stories and being politically biased. I am less afraid with No 10 going straight to the people #MediaProblem

@kimKBaltimore @Cricket02385224 @CNN The media problem—those aren’t words I’ve heard before. Oh, we’ve danced around them but never said it quite that succinctly. We have a #mediaproblem & it’s time to take a close look & hold them accountable for their contribution to the death of truth, honesty and integrity! 🇺🇸
