I’ve ordered clearing grass & shrubs other side of the street on “my side” next week, when people have picked whatever flowers needed for celebrations

Got rid of ALL plastic, glass & metal recycling 👍🏻(cardboard- no way. You have to check when they empty & be there right away)
75g is max bird weight. Wonder what woodpeckers weigh?

I typically put off both grass mowing, weeding & spreading grass seeds, all very boring tasks… there is a day tomorrow too.

Saturday May 14th & still very windy. On the south side of the house the builders did not give up until 6 am, more & more screened off by the birches. The bird cherry looks fantastic by now, but with the wind there is no way of enjoying the scent

It’s been raining fiercely on and off last hours & nature is more or less exploding. Almost impossible to remember what it looked like when I begun this thread in March…

I then decided to finally cut back the ivy. Ivy has to be kept under strict discipline, doing it’s best to move inside and climb nearby walls. I managed to clean the space by the door, but in the process I ripped open a large flake of skin on my right hand 🤬

At 7 pm I have decided that enough is enough … heading out to sit & listen to the black birds 🎵🎶

As I inspect the garden the magnolia by the wall, heavily pruned in October, has decided to at least have a few flowers
Solomon seals happily stick up through sand & gravel along the logs
They used to grow under the fur tree hedge which shows how wide it was

Less wind today @ the anemones are lovely… So far I’ve cleaned the basement floor, took care of washing, fetched a spinach pie from the fridge (night guests arriving tonight), replanted begonias & now considering on the patio, having coffee

Family & today neighbors visited (the mocha cake tasted 👍🏻, you never know before)
Change outside is very rapid-Crocus are gone & yellow Anemones replacing Scilla, 1st tulip buds
