As some of you may have seen, the New York Times is out with a bombshell story this morning about the Trump administration targeting my company and me personally based on a ridiculous conspiracy theory cooked up by Laura Loomer during the 2024 election. Let’s be clear about what this is: an outrageous abuse of power and a baseless fishing expedition built on conspiracy theories rather than facts. Authentic did nothing wrong. Our clients and staff did nothing wrong. And we are not going to be intimidated into pretending otherwise. This is part of a broader pattern of Donald Trump abusing the power of the Department of Justice to go after his political enemies instead of doing anything that might actually keep the American people safe. Republicans—including Trump himself—raised enormous amounts of money off the news surrounding his indictment and trial. The suggestion that there was somehow something improper about Democratic campaigns doing the exact same thing is laughable. What’s far more disturbing is the apparent effort by the Trump administration to use the power of the Department of Justice to obtain sensitive and confidential political communications belonging to my company and our clients—including some of Trump’s most prominent political adversaries. That should concern the hell out of everyone, regardless of your politics. I can’t get into every detail of this fight right now, but I can say this: we are going to protect our staff, protect our clients, protect their confidentiality, and defend our company against any attempt to weaponize the federal government for political purposes. We know what happened. We know the facts. We stand behind our work and our people. And we are not backing down.
