The plan that works is the plan you stick to.
Less getting distracted by the shiny new trends or looking for shortcuts in pills and powers. More consistency and hard work.

No amount of abs will make you happy. You've gotta find that first.
Loving yourself and loving your look is not the same thing.

One of the biggest lies ever told in fitness is that you need to "die" to have a great workout. Ain't nothing wrong with moving well at a pace your comfortable with.

The fitness world would be a better place with more strict pull-ups.
Notice I didn’t say “without kipping,”
....so chill.

100% of the time I’ll take a “newbie” coach who picks up the garbage on the floor vs. an “expert” coach who steps over it.

I’ve taught poorly. Tried things that didn’t work. Missed correcting bad movement. Offered terrible feedback. Ran over my timeline. The list goes on...and on.
We all mess up. But can we learn from it and do the work to get better?

On Self-Forgiveness...
You WILL make mistakes and get off track. When it happens...be kind to yourself. Don't obsess or spiral.
Own it, learn from it, and be better.

What my athlete needs & what my athlete wants aren’t always the same. Regardless, they are both massively important to overall happiness.
The question becomes, “Can I artfully balance both in the pursuit of both?”

We can learn from everyone.
The newest athlete, saltiest vet, most awkward mover, fittest athlete, greenest coach, most random walk-in, or the most-talkative class; each offers a challenge and opportunity.
Learn something every day!

Asking for a friend...
Can we stop doing “question of the day” for classes with more than 10-15 people? In big classes, there’s a better way to engage than listening to 30 people’s cheat meals.

The 1-hour in the gym matters for sure... work hard and get after it!
But, if those 23-hours outside of the gym are a non-stop, stress-filled binge of junk food, junk thoughts, and junk sleep... we’ve got issues.

Not everyone can coach for a living, I get that. But, it probably shouldn’t be treated like a hobby... it’s not baseball cards.
People are putting a lot of trust in the person standing at the front of the room.

What’s stopping you from achieving your goals? Today. Right now. At this very moment. What’s holding you back?
Whatever IT is... eliminate it with surgical precision.

Can we get one thing straight about nutrition?
It’s highly unlikely that eating too much fruit is what’s holding you back. Talk to me about the Apple Pop-Tarts, not the Grannysmiths, please!

Giving everything you've got is scary. No matter if it's in the gym or in life...it can be terrifying to go ‘all in.’
But regret is worse.

Not every workout needs to steal your soul and leave you in a puddle... but some of them MUST.

If my athlete isn’t “getting it” after using the same feedback over and over, it’s not their fault...
It’s my fault.

Here's what no one wants to hear about results. You need to eat right, train hard, and sleep well for many, many, many days. Not just a few days here and there. The combined effect of your daily decisions matters big time. That's where your results are hiding.
