Yes this is Toronto. Yes this design can be replicated on our suburban streets - the majority of our road network! Yes doing so would begin to facilitate a transition from cars to bikes, providing more choice in places where choices are limited.

Yes. The risk is that cycling gets even more dangerous before it becomes safe. Some things should not exist halfway - cycling infrastructure that dumps cyclists into traffic is dangerous. We need to complete the #minimumgrid asap.

Dear @JohnTory World class cities like New York and London have massive amounts of cycling infrastructure, which is relatively cheap to build. How can Toronto call itself world class when we haven't even built half of the needed #MinimumGrid ?

Why do people ride bicycles in cities like Amsterdam? Simple, they have built a citywide network of protected bikeways, for all ages and abilities. It has to be SAFE and connected. One here, another there... will NOT work. #MinimumGrid! Not tech or $$ issue; it's political!

@BikewaysTO NOT building back better. TO last year did approx. 30km protected bike-lanes. This year, it should have been 3 times, 90km. Instead, less than 1/3, just 9km! With fewer cars, now is the moment to create citywide #minimumGRID. #Connectivity #AllAgesAbilities
