Can't believe I'm sharing this for free on X! You don't have to guess and wonder if your Costco watermelon will be good. There is a method to picking the best watermelon...🍉 DARK GREEN-the darker the berry, the sweeter the juice. FIRMNESS-feel the entire outside. If it has any softness, pass. SUN SPOT-look for a yellow sun spot, this is key. SUGAR VEINS-some have them, key on those. HOLLOW- last but most important, you have to tap it. Tap, tap tap a roo. It should sound hollow. Don't be embarrassed, just do it. It's a real art. Any other watermelon connoisseurs out there? What would you add?

Did a little watermelon science experiment, tried to keep a watermelon from the patch(late September)for Christmas. It was close, I think the cold snap 10 days ago got it. Had it in a dark dry controlled temp but cold got it when I didn’t turn heat on in garage. #mitchellmelons
