@MerckVetManual Great question. Ask what meetings they attend and what organizations they belong to. Do they go to the ACVB research meetings in the summer (this year with ACVIM in June). How did they learn what they learn (NAVC I?). Ask to sit in. I encourage it. #MVMChat

Studies are now appearing that show that no matter how well done, sheltering is stressful for dogs and can damage vulnerable dogs who were not abused. This is why they need the time to become and show who they are rather than immersing them in everything. #MVMChat

It's a lot of work, but the payoffs are dog lives and brains. You must know who is doing what and how. And you need to see it and understand it for yourself. #MVMChat

I would definitely have them contact their vet ASAP and remind them to 🥰 & be patient, but to try not to give up if/when things get tough. Sometimes you have to throw in a mix of meds and supplements #MVMchat
