This morning I have found this new NIST Elementary Agreement during my break duty. Happy to see that it has been displayed in different World Languages. I love the fact that Elementary students came along these agreements! @NISTSchool #nisties

Today we celebrated Wai Kruh at @NISTSchool. Students show respect to their teachers and give them a plant, that symbolizes the seed of knowledge. Such a beautiful Thai tradition that reminds us of the importance of education and being a teacher #nisties #waikruh #respect

This is the first time I am teaching online a completely beginner class, which means that Ss are learning a new language without having any previous knowledge and I don’t see them physically. My take away so far: Ss deserve all my respect and pride #resilience #abinitio #Nisties

The first two weeks teaching Elementary have been based on Community building, very important considering that we are teaching online. This doesn’t hinder the fact of creating hand-on activities like these trees that represent our classroom agreements @Y4NIST @Y6NIST #NISTies

As part of the induction week, #nisties had a TOK session where teachers had to find specific examples or experiences in their subjects and create posters for their classes. A great way to visualize TOK claims and questions! Here my example for Spanish ab initio. @malikah_sheriff

First day meeting my colleagues @NISTSchool in this new school year. Even if remotely, we reconnected building good relationships and got to know our new colleagues. Thanks for all the positivism that was shown by our leadership. Much needed under these uncertainties. #nisties

Working with poems with children in the #pyp Spanish class. Amazed how kids can perceived the beauty of a language that they don’t speak at home. Such a great tool to learn a new language and developed creativity and intercultural awareness #nisties @Y4NIST

Seesaw, blogs, online announcements, emails, hangouts, G drive, scanned documents, websites, screen time, missing face to face games, movements in the classroom, but something doesn’t change: the motivation to teach and learn. #NISTies show an incredible emotional intelligence.

Stoked to be learning about #orthography the next few days! When leaving morning meeting & saying goodbye to my Ss, they said “because teachers learn from teachers and teachers learn from students too!!” #growthmindset #smartkiddos #nisties

I love seeing lists of words that have crazy spelling - but wait, are they really crazy? Hoping to unpack these spellings with some #orthographicinquiry over the next few days @NISTSchool
