@broadwaybabyto Well said and thank you, Kelly. It is absolutely shocking how callous and cruel ableism is, especially knowing the statistics on disability, cancer, dementia, etc., and that most if not all able folk are in the #NotYetDisabled category themselves. @threadreaderapp please unroll.

If you're currently #NotYetDisabled, that's solely a matter of luck. The BASE probability that you will spend the rest of your life disabled increases every day. Death by sudden trauma is the only way to avoid becoming disabled. Ways to increase those odds: ⬇️

So this is my friend being stretchered off a mountain whilst ski-ing. It offers a timely reminder to all those in power making discriminatory decisions that exclude us. We, disabled people are the protected characteristic that ANYONE can join at any time. #NotYetDisabled

@Razmatini @Artists_Ali In my experience, most #NotYetDisabled people think most reactions from disabled folks, especially if it's an "invisible" disability, are overreacting any time we object to abuse. The few who don't generally have close family who endured similar & saw firsthand how real it is.
