I continue to collate data on backlit-galaxy work from various #observingrun s. I was very struck at how well the B+I images in this composite of UGC 1689 and its background galaxies compare to @NASAHubble STARSMOG image. Mean FWHM=0.36 arcsecond, from @WIYNObservatory.

Twilight was coming and the H-alpha filter was in anyway. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'd never noticed the "Running Gumby with thought balloon" dust cloud before. (JKT, La Palma)
Remote #observingrun back-to-back from La Palma and Kitt Peak. Summer solstice + full moon makes me think this was one of the lats of our nights I scheduled (fault of Past Me). OTOH, it's clear both places. So H-alpha and I bands it will be.
So, whenever I feel the urge to complain about bad weather on an #observingrun... (I still will complain, but feel bad about it)
