Well you wouldn't know from this picture but a lifer for Edie on our #OFFH walk today .... Red Kite . Flew over the Demesnes , circled once and then flew off over Barnard Castle. Also a photo of Edie eating a treat, to celebrate.

Another 20ml on the clock with only Kittiwakes added to the #OFFH yearlist #107. Notable count of RTD btw Ryhope and Seaham 31 also 4 GCG with them.49 Redshank in Seaham harbour.@DurhamBirdClub #birding (2 Grey Seal and Porpoise)

#OFFH walk with Edie this morning in Barnard Castle, with Moorhen added to the dog's yearlist. Ice forming on the slower stretches of the Tees. Felt quite balmy in the sun, even at -1 .

Another 12mile bringing up 84 for the #OFFH List (got 86 on NYDay last year) too mild a winter so far, geese, owls & waterfowl poor. Dipper pair duetting was nice to watch. 3Egret at dusk on puddle edge of town was unthinkable a decade ago. Dips: Tawny & GSand
