#Fulgora laternaria, are large ≤10cm #bugs w/ false heads bearing toothy grinning #alligator profile to scare predators. If that fails, open wings reveal startling eyespots. #Cryptic on tree bark, these harmless phloem feeders are night active. #Hemiptera #PeanutBug #Ecuador

Peanut Bug (Fulgora laternaria) from Rainforest of Yasuni National Park, Ecuador. 🥜#PeanutBug #Legend 🥜 The legend says that if you get stung and you don't make love in 24h, you shall die... In truth, it's mouth is like a straw, it can't even bite and is totally harmless 😃
