I’ve never been comfortable talking about this publicly… but I feel like it’s time.
The reason I’m writing this is what we’ve been seeing lately.
Painful suicide cases in Egypt… one of them even happened live.
What hurt me more than the incidents themselves… was the silence after.
No one talks.
No one explains.
No one says that some people are fighting every single day just to stay alive.
I have Bipolar Disorder. Since I was 14.
I was first misdiagnosed with depression, then correctly diagnosed a year later with real therapy.
I’m not speaking from a distance.
I’ve been through a suicide attempt… and I survived.
My treatment journey wasn’t easy.
There were many attempts… more than 30.
Not by my strength… but by God’s mercy.
That’s why I’m speaking.
Because many didn’t make it.
This illness is invisible… but heavy.
Some days, simple things feel like a battle:
getting out of bed, brushing your teeth, taking a shower, working, staying consistent…
I’m not afraid of being judged at work.
I work… and I deliver. Just differently.
Not a typical 9–5.
I can work 10–12 hours a day, even weekends… then disappear for a few days to recover.

So, back to the main point,I’ve never missed a target.
I’ve always delivered results.
I was once told I’m like Mohamed Aboutrika in my work.
Yet I was also told I’m “not suitable for the job description.”
Maybe because I’m different.
I’ve been rejected, hurt, even fired twice…
not because I’m weak, but because I was honest.
I asked for time off as someone with Bipolar…
instead of faking a physical illness like many feel forced to do.
Very few people truly understand what I go through.
The only one who really did was my father… may he rest in peace.
Losing him broke me… but I kept going.
I worked, learned, succeeded, and stood on my own feet.
I’m stable and under professional medical care.
This is not a cry for help.
It’s a voice.
We exist.
And we try… every single day.
Mental illness is invisible… but real.
So real that I once wished I had a visible illness like cancer… just so people would understand.
Some days feel like dying…
and other days, I’m stronger and more productive than anyone else.
Maybe that’s the hidden strength in all of this.

high energy periods (less sleep, impulsive decisions),
and low periods (depression, exhaustion, loss of motivation).
For women, these shifts can intensify with hormonal changes (PMS, cycle, pregnancy, postpartum).
For men, fluctuations exist but are not linked to a monthly cycle.
This is not weakness.
It requires awareness, medical support, and lifestyle management.
The person is the same…
but what’s inside keeps changing, and they learn how to manage it over time.
