Gilbert #Puech passed away last Friday. We will never forget him. One of the world's greatest experts on #Maltese, an extraordinary #phonologist, active right up to the end, one of the best university deans Lyon 2 has ever had, for his honesty, his ability to combine science and academic governance with great intelligence. He was also one of the pioneers of #openscience in France. He was director of the @PerseeFr service, an Internet portal giving access to the entire retrospective collections (digitised old documents) of French journals in the humanities and social sciences, opened in 2004 on the initiative of the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research. He was also a member of the Standing Committee of the Conference of University Presidents (CPU > @FranceUniv ). For me, he was a friend, whom I was lucky enough to know, especially in Lyon. I was fascinated by his human and scientific greatness.
