Switchboard (SB) is a permissionless, innovative, and multichain (Solana, Sui, Aptos, EVM soon) oracle provider with solutions to common issues with other oracles. It has 3 unique products/features:

》Switchboard On-Demand.
》Switchboard Randomness.
》Switchboard Secrets.

1. 𝙎𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙗𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙊𝙣-𝘿𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙: SB On-Demand is a pull model oracle that provides users with;

a) Highly customizable data - devs can structure the data feed to suit the kind of app being built.

b) Cost optimized - data is only retrieved when needed thereby reducing cost and improving data freshness.

c) Secure data feeds - Unlike other oracles that rely on a network of nodes to provide data, SB leverages Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) or Enclaves to keep data processing fast, confidential & tamper-proof from the oracle, i.e. only the end user sees the result first.

Note: TEEs are isolated areas in a computer's processor where codes are run securely to safeguard data privacy. TEEs also generate cryptographic proofs (Enclave Quotes) that attest to the data's integrity.

2. 𝙎𝘽 𝙍𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙢𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨: This is one of Switchboard's features that provide secure & fast random numbers for dApps where unpredictability is needed — like lotteries, raffles, virtual dice or wheel spin games, etc.

SB utilizes TEEs to ensure that generated numbers are not manipulated and secure.

For example:
▪︎ Old Way: You flip a coin, but the person flipping it might be cheating.

▪︎ SB Way: A robot inside a locked, secure box flips the coin and provides a certificate proving a fair flip.

3. 𝙎𝘽 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙨: This is SB's clever way of keeping important information safe and hidden within Oracle feeds.

Here, TEEs are used to create secure spaces like a vault to store & access private data such as passwords, API keys, etc, when needed and without anyone seeing them.

A simple example is a dApp/website which needs to access payment processors or databases. SB Secrets can be used to securely store the API keys.
