Through: The State Election Commissioner / The Chief Electoral Officer, Tamilnadu @TNelectionsCEO Subject: Request for issuance of clear Directions prohibiting the Engagement of Retired Officials and Temporary / Contractual Personnel in Election-Related activities – Reg. Respected Sir/Madam, I Respectfully submit as follows: Elections conducted in India form the very foundation of Democracy. It is a Fundamental constitutional objective that the entire electoral process be carried out with absolute integrity, independence, political neutrality, and transparency. However, in Recent times, it is observed that retired officials and Temporary / contractual / ad-hoc personnel are being engaged in election-related activities. Such practices: Pose a serious Risk to the independence and Credibility of Election Administration; Create scope for Political or External influence; and Undermine public confidence in the electoral process. Election Duties are a vital constitutional and Administrative Responsibility entrusted under the Constitution of India. Therefore, it is imperative that such Duties are performed only by serving, permanent Government Employees. In view of the above, we Respectfully Request the Hon’ble Election Commission of India to take the following measures: To issue clear and categorical Directions that Retired officials shall not be engaged in any manner whatsoever in Election-related activities; To prohibit the engagement of temporary, contractual, daily-wage, or ad-hoc personnel in election duties; To issue uniform and binding guidelines mandating that all election-related functions shall be carried out exclusively by serving permanent government employees; and To ensure and monitor that the above directions are uniformly implemented across the entire country. We sincerely believe that the adoption of the above measures will safeguard the sanctity, fairness, integrity, and constitutional values of the electoral process. We therefore humbly pray that the Hon’ble Election Commission of India may be pleased to issue appropriate directions and guidelines in this regard and render justice. Respected Sir/Madam,
I Respectfully submit as follows:

Elections conducted in India form the very foundation of Democracy. It is a Fundamental constitutional objective that the entire electoral process be carried out with absolute integrity, independence, political neutrality, and transparency.

However, in Recent times, it is observed that retired officials and Temporary / contractual / ad-hoc personnel are being engaged in election-related activities.

Such practices:
