#PRESTEA CHIEFS DRAG FGR BEFORE MINISTRY OF LANDS & NATURAL RESOURCES.
On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, I received a four-member delegation of Chiefs from the Wassa Fiase Traditional Area in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality on behalf of the Sector Minister, Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor.
The Chiefs petitioned the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to probe the dormant operations of Future Global Resources (FGR), a Mining company based in Bogoso Prestea Huni Valley of the Western Region.
Speaking on behalf of the Delegation, Nana Nteboa Pra IV, Chief of Himan Prestea tabled several concerns before the Deputy Minister consisting of FGR not investing any capital into their operations as agreed before the Mine Takeover, Poor Corporate Social responsibilities in the area among others.
The chiefs believe that, should the government delay in intervening, the company may collapse which will degenerate into a full-scale security crisis and high level of unemployment in the area.
I assured the Chiefs that, the Ministry will immediately invite FGR for their comments, and will take it from there to ensure that, the Mine gets the necessary investment and support it requires to contribute towards socio-economic development.

Ok so this is PRESTEA, a town that has Gold, Timber, cocoa etc. This road has been brown since I was born, this town never seen black road (Asphalt) before. All wanna MP’s know be say make dem dey V8 then roam aimlessly 🤦🏽♂️ This is a town where drivers need to visit both hospitals and car workshop to fix themselves and the cars they use.
