The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has advised all private satellite TV channels to strictly comply with the #ProgrammeCode, warning that violations may invite action under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995. Channels have been asked to ensure responsible reporting, avoid live coverage of anti-terror operations, exercise caution with violent visuals, protect sexual offence victims’ identities, use authentic maps of India and prevent communal or anti-national content. The advisory also calls for caution in using AI tools and stronger editorial oversight. @MIB_India @AshwiniVaishnaw

Taking exception to television coverage of the Ukraine-Russia conflict and the Delhi riots, the @MIB_India has issued a strong advisory to news channels asking them to abide by the #ProgrammeCode laid down by the relevant laws.
I&B Ministry has held that previous episodes of the show breached #ProgrammeCode, but has only cautioned the channel.
