When adeq powered #RCTs are not feasible, #propensitymatched cohort studies can be insightful. However, they are no substitute; groups can be balanced for known variables, but unknown variables associated w/ Tx or outcome can't be accounted for. Each #researchdesign has its place

Good point @jeanlucvachiery ! Also the high heterogeneity of these populations is an added complexity. The sensitivity of the propensity score model to unknown confounders can be estimated, enabling consideration of the effect of unknown confounders (that's great!) @hvanspall
