This, superbly expressed by @Geoffrey_Cox, is *the* critical point.
The #ProtocolBill cannot be a durable & permanent solution:
- Not according to the grounds of 'necessity'
- Not by the nature of the problem, i.e, a joint UK/EU concern
- Not given the political realities of NI
The #ProtocolBill will affect our standing on the international stage.
As Conservative Party leadership candidates discuss honesty and integrity, my amendment would force the Government to publish their legal advice, yet they voted it down. What have they got to hide?

Not so much re: meaning for ‘Irish Sea border’ (we don’t quite know) but due to the powers it grants ministers & the precedent it sets for UKG approach to devolved admin & international agmts, inc. the B/GFA.
