Night-time footage of the #PIRA's "South Armagh Brigade" #Provos attacking #XMG #Crossmaglen joint #Police #RUC & British Army Base. ☘️🇬🇧 The #SouthArmagh Brigade of the Provisional IRA carried out this improvised "#flamethrower" attack in December 1992. During the attack, PIRA members used an agricultural slurry tanker to pump and spray petrol over a heavily fortified #BritishArmy #watchtower/lookout post located in the square of the border village of #Crossmaglen (often referred to locally or phonetically as "Cross McLane"). The fuel was then set on fire. While the incident caused serious fire damage to the security post, the soldiers inside managed to survive without injury by huddling in a protected shower block area. #OpBanner #OperationBanner #BanditCountry #TheBorder
