@timgill924 I'm leaving #highered and I felt that class difference across some 15 years. #RankedFaculty remain because #contingencyfaculty are doing the bulk of the teaching. It's not a collaborative, nor a sustainable work environment.
@ashleytrubin Agreed. I'm part of the now majority #contingencyfaculty leaving #highered. #rankedfaculty around me are holding out till they retire and things are no longer getting done. No one is here. A constructed space of scarcity pits people against each other, for nothing.

@AsheeshKSi Yes. Steinbaum argues for faculty & quality education. Admin have been decreasing #rankedfaculty for decades, arguing for profit. "The bottom line is that it should not be acceptable for college students to be taught by anyone other than tenure-track professors" (Steinbaum).
all too often it is #contingencyfaculty like me speaking out as #rankedfaculty walk away: together we can advocate 4 higher salaries, better working conditions, new job descriptions, etc.; 2 fight alone simply means a slow descent into ajunctification & joblessness #highered

@njoybetz Hi, Dr. Betz. Thx 4 this gr8 thread. As part of the growing #contingencyfaculty in #highered, I want 2 add that these conditions continue into academic employment, less so for #rankedfaculty or #TTFaculty, but that group is a growing minority.
